Rarely does photography make me laugh but this set did... something about the sulleness of the artists... but then reading the email message (is that real?) I was wondering if the artists were exploited. Maybe my laughter was misplaced. But then looking again at the artists themselves, they seemed to be wearing middle class clothes and some were in standard Chinese apartment buildings, so I felt it was ok to smile again. Perhaps the serious looks are just the affectations that artists everywhere take on.

The thing I find so Alice in the Looking-glassy about these is that the copies are often so out of scale from the originals...
