On the edge of the world, in a featureless landscape. Well, featureless is not quite accurate, there are those awesome clouds dipping just beyond the ridge. It's curious that the shelter is pitched in the open, and not near a place of natural protection or near a water source.

On the plateaus there isn't any natural protection, it's just grass and rolling hills as far as the eye can see. All this is at high altitude, in this case around 15,300 feet. As for water it's all over. There are small rivers, streams, and springs in all directions. The hard thing is not finding water, it's finding a spot that is dry.

i love the way the clouds go *under* the horizon! Great mini-series. I really feel like I'm on the journey with you.
