I don't think it is possible to humanly comprehend something as devistatingly sinister as the Khmer Rouge revolution in Cambodia. I am not sure if it is even possible for people to comprehend the horrors even from seeing things like all of these empty eye holes.
I think you photograph does an admirable job of portraying the emotional tone of this monument. Do you recall what it was like to be there? How did you feel?
The soft blur on the figure is wonderfully powerful. If i were standing in front of shelves full of human skulls, i imagine i might actually blur myself. I sort of do just looking at this photo.
