There are a million things wrong with this image technically, but it captured the emotion of the moment and because of that I like it and feel ok to post it.
This photo directly reminds me of Steve McCurrys work on Tibet. I like the way you were able to captere the mood in this photo. Well done!

this photo is absolutely incredible, i love every aspect of it, from the expressions of the boys at the subjective center of the photo, to the texture of the floor and suspended light bulb that finish out the rest of the photo. excellent. you mentioned technical shortcomings, and though this may be true, the moment and feeling easily overcomes any technical difficulties. the only thing i really see is some uncorrected chromatic abberation surrounding the window highlight. this can easily be corrected using the sponge tool in photoshop, set to "desaturate" and working at a very high zoom just sponge around the highlight border.
this photo really is fantastic. i love that the head is cut off of the person standing. the gaze upwards, and us not seeing what he's seeing is awesome. also, the one kid in the back sneaking a peek at you is great.

Well I fail to see a thing wrong with it. As you say it conveys emotion and you can't do much better than that.

Very touching picture, but the noise is irritating. If it weren't for that, it would be truly astounding. What caused it? ISO?
